Tomy Turbo Police Car Roof Lighting!By: Marc NatividadHere is what you will need:2-Radio Shack 276-0312 5mm Red Blinking Lamps1pk.-Radio Shack 271-1317 470-Ohm Resistors1pk.-Radio Shack 5mm LED HolderAmazing GOOP Household ALL PurposeSoldering Iron & SolderHeavy Duty Razor & Exacto Knife

Ok, let's get to it! Remove the roof loudspeaker and roof lights from the underside with a strong razor blade. Chip away around the outer edges and slowly work it lose.
Set the roof piece aside and use an Exacto knife to slowly bore the roof holes open to accommodate the 1-3/4 blinking led. Do just a little and then check for proper fit until led fits snug through the holes.
The lights should fit nicely through the roof. I prefer a lower profile than the previous stock roof rack!
Separate the roof lights from the siren. Trim it up with your Exacto and fine tune the cut with some fine grit sandpaper if needed.
Here is just the siren refitted back on to the top of the body with the lights. Now to lower the profile of the new lights!
The led is installed into the 5mm led holder, but I don't need all the extra clips on the sides. Trim them away till you get a nice flat plastic spacer.
The lights are now ready to be glued into the underside of the body. Use this simple diagram to position led's:Drivers Side Passengers Side + - resistor + - *The LONG side of the led is the POSITIVE side.
Using a plastic toothpick, I get the GOOP neatly around the edges. Carefully insert each led. If you do get GOOP on the led, you can just peel it off once it is dry!
Resistor is fitted and then soldered on to the negative lead on the drivers side and connected to the positive lead on the passenger side. You should end up with one open positive lead to be soldered to the drivers side shoe holder and the other lead on the passengers side to be connected to the passengers side shoe holder.
Solder a short wire to each shoe holder. I used RED for the positive (drivers) side and BLACK for the negative (passenger) side. Finally, solder the other end of the shoe holder wire to the correct side of each led.
"Jinkers, the COPS!" Here's the final product. For the final upgrade it was fitting that I used the TOMY AFX SRT chassis with the black wheels. ENJOY and Happy Racing from West Coast Slot Cars!!
